Lowest Price Guarantee - Terms and Conditions

If you find a lower qualifying rate than SmartFares, within 24 hours of booking a flight we may rearrange your trip at that price or refund the difference. To qualify for the lower rate you must meet the following conditions:

1. Lowest Price Guarantee is available to any customer who makes a qualifying airfare purchase through Smartfares.com per the terms of this agreement. Qualifying purchase must occur on/after 1 January 2010.

2. If you find an airfare with the same itinerary and dates of travel, on the same airline, with the same flight numbers, for the same passengers, itinerary, cabin, and subject to the same fare restrictions on any other full service travel website or airline website that is at least $10 lower than the airfare you purchased within 24 hours of the initial booking on Smartfares.com, and you contact the SmartFares Support Center within 24 hours of completing the booking, then SmartFares will at its option a) issue a new booking to the passenger(s) on the lower fare (based on availability), or b) provide the passenger with a coupon in the amount of $50 for every ticket in your SmartFares reservation, redeemable on your next Smartfares.com purchase. The coupon is only applicable on service fees.

3. Lowest Price Guarantee applies only to airline tickets purchased on Smartfares.com for travel within the domestic 50 United States, and only for tickets purchased using a valid credit card with a United States billing address.

4. Lowest Price Guarantee applies only to the total airfare and does not apply to differences based on service, booking, processing, shipping, paper-ticket and other fees not collected on the airline ticket.

5. To claim a refund, you must contact the SmartFares Support Center within 24 hours of completing the booking, and review the claim details with a travel agent. The agent will verify the claim and if found valid, determine the action to be taken. If the claim is submitted after the 24 hour period of time or the flights / seats do not exist or are not available, then the claim will be denied, and no changes will be implemented.

6. Lowest Price Guarantee applies to lower airfares of $10 or greater found on another full-service travel website or airline website. The confirmed airfare purchased on Smartfares.com will be compared to the second airfare. Fares must be compared with like fare restrictions. For example, if an unrestricted airfare is purchased on Smartfares.com, it will not qualify if compared to a restricted airfare found on another website. You must meet all requirements imposed on the lower price (if any), including and without limitation, residency, regional and age-related requirements.

7. Lowest Price Guarantee does not apply to lower airfares that are available on Smartfares.com or to refundable tickets that you choose to refund.

8. SmartFares reserves the right to deny any claims that cannot be verified, or for which you have provided incomplete information.

9. Lowest Price Guarantee applies to published fares only, and does not apply to unpublished rates that are not available to the general public. Rates not available to the general public include, but are not limited to, corporate discount airfares, government fares, military fares, meeting fares, wholesale fares or consolidator fares.

10. Lowest price Guarantee does not apply to airfares where the carrier or itinerary details are unknown until after purchase (commonly known as "opaque fares"), nor does it apply to differences of less than $10 or to service, booking, processing, shipping, paper-ticket and other fees not charged on the airline ticket.

11. Lowest Price Guarantee applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on a US-based website. For example, this does not include rates offered on membership program websites, corporate discounts or rates, group, charter, reward or loyalty programs, incentive, meeting, convention, consolidator or interline prices; prices obtained via auction or similar process; or prices available only by using a coupon, contest, or other promotion not offered to the general public. The lower rate may not come from a website where you call to get the rate, or from an email that you received. The rate must be quoted and booked in US dollars (and without reference to currency converters).

12. Upon verification of the lower online airfare, SmartFares will a) modify the booking to the lower fare, or b) send you a coupon in an amount equal to $50 USD for each eligible ticket purchased as part of the same confirmed reservation on Smartfares.com. One coupon will be issued per reservation to cover all ticketed travelers and is valid for a future purchase on Smartfares.com, and is only applicable on service fees. Typically coupons are sent via e-mail within 10-15 business days of verification of a claim. Customers may receive a maximum of three coupons per passenger during any calendar year.

13. Coupons are valid towards future service fee of travel products booked on Smartfares.com within one year of the coupon issue date. When the coupon is redeemed, the service fee amount will be refunded to the credit card used for payment on the new purchase. Extensions will not be permitted and coupons will not be replaced or reissued for any reason.

14. Coupons are not redeemable for cash, are not transferable or assignable and may not be purchased or auctioned and any attempt to do so will result in the voiding of the coupon. Coupons have no cash value.

15. Coupons will only be issued to the SmartFares customer under whom the qualifying airfare purchase was made.

16. The coupon is the sole and exclusive compensation that will be provided for Smartfares' failure to fulfill its pledge.

17. If your qualifying purchase on Smartfares.com is for a refundable ticket and you later refund the ticket, any coupon issued in connection with the Lowest price Guarantee will become null and void. If your qualifying purchase is canceled within 48 hours of purchase, your claim or any issued coupon will not be valid.

18. To redeem your coupon you will have to complete a new purchase on Smartfares.com as outlined above and call SmartFares Customer Support with the following information about the purchase:

  • Smartfares Record Locator (16-digit, alpha-numeric Smartfares confirmation #) for the new product purchased on Smartfares.com
  • E-mail address of Smartfares account
  • Coupon code (# sent via e-mail)
  • Coupon amount

19. Void where prohibited by law. SmartFares reserves the right to modify or cancel Lowest price Guarantee at any time without a prior notice. Any modification will be effective upon posting of modified Lowest Price Guarantee Terms and Conditions on the Smartfares.com website. Any cancellation will be effective upon removal of references to Lowest Price Guarantee and Lowest price Guarantee Terms and Conditions from the Smartfares.com website. If Lowest Price Guarantee is canceled for any reason, the coupons issued will remain valid until their expiration date.
